The Board of Directors is required by the Companies Act 1965 (“the Act”) to prepare financial
statements which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the Group and the Company at
the end of every financial year and of the results and cash flows of the Group and the Company
for every financial year.
As required by the Act, the financial statements have been prepared in accordance with Financial
Reporting Standards and the requirements of the Companies Act 1965 in Malaysia. The Directors have
considered that in preparing the financial statements for the financial year ended 31 December 2014
as set out in pages 59 to 136 of this Annual Report, appropriate accounting policies have
been adopted and are consistently applied and supported by reasonable and prudent judgements
and estimates. These estimates and judgements in applying the accounting policies of the Group
and the Company are based on the Directors’ best knowledge of current events and actions.
The Directors have the responsibility to ensure that the Group and the Company maintain proper
accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy the financial position and performance
of the Group and the Company and also to ensure that the financial statements comply with the
Act. The Directors have overall responsibility for taking such steps as are reasonably open to them
to safeguard the assets of the Group and the Company and to prevent and detect fraud and other
irregularities.
The statement is made in accordance with a resolution of the Board of Directors dated 10 April 2015.
